More Of The Good Stuff is a staple among the regulars at Worting House. It’s a wonderful café on our grounds that serves lovely food and drink throughout the week both inside and in the seated garden area, and doubles up as a gift shop full of cute and quirky items.
However, it’s also home to a year-round calendar of events, organised by the More Of The Good Stuff Team and offering Basingstoke residents a constant source of entertainment. We’re here to highlight some of the best upcoming events at More Of The Good Stuff, so you can fill your calendar with activities for all the family.
Monthly Quiz and Curry Night
6:30pm – 10:30pm, second Thursday of every month
If you love putting your knowledge to the test, enjoying a delicious curry, or both, then this is the perfect event for you. Starting at 7:30pm on the second Thursday of every month, More Of The Good Stuff’s Monthly Quiz and Curry Night is a fan-favourite event. You’ll get the chance to battle it out against the other teams for bragging rights, while also having the comfort of a tasty curry to fall back on and a fully licensed bar to prop up if things don’t go to plan. Tickets are £10 per person and include entry to the quiz and your meal, and there’s a maximum of six people per team. Music On The Lawn
7pm – 11pm, Friday June 24th
After a successful show in November 2021, superb vocalist Rob Tidbury will be returning to More Of The Good Stuff in the height of summer on Friday June 24th to perform a collection of swing and Rat Pack classic covers. Unlike November, though, this summer event will take advantage of the weather and take place on the lawn outside of Worting House, with plenty of room to sway or dance (although a marquee is standing by for the worst case). More Of The Good Stuff will also be serving a two-course supper (included with the ticket) between Rob’s sets, and drinks including wine, prosecco, and craft beers will be on sale. Tickets cost £17.50, but places are very limited so make sure to book as soon as possible by emailing sam@motgs.co.uk or messaging More Of The Good Stuff on Facebook.
Treasure Island by The Walking Theatre Company
3:30pm, Saturday July 9th
And, finally, on July 9th, More Of The Good Stuff will be welcoming the award-winning Walking Theatre Company to the Worting House grounds to create a wonderful performance-led experience centred around a pirate theme. The perfect day out for kids, The Walking Theatre Company’s Treasure Island show will involve searching the grounds of Worting House for the hidden treasure, and is designed to be as exciting and engaging as possible. It’s an ideal summer weekend activity, and will be a great excuse to be out in the sun on lovely July Saturday.
